A Sunrise of Gratitude

In the dim morning light, Rahmah, a 12-year-old girl, woke up earlier than usual. After performing her ablutions and putting on her prayer clothes, she walked toward the small mosque in her village. After completing the dawn prayer, Rahmah stepped outside and felt the peaceful, cool morning air. In the eastern sky, soft colors began to emerge at the horizon, a sign that the sun was about to rise. Rahmah smiled gently, savoring the calmness that always filled her as she awaited the arrival of dawn.

Once she carefully folded her prayer clothes, Rahmah walked along the path toward the fishpond on the edge of the village. Watching the sunrise from here had become a beloved routine for her. Every time the sun rose, hues of orange and pink painted the sky, creating a breathtaking view on the pond’s still surface. To Rahmah, the sunrise was a small miracle that never failed to bring peace and happiness to her heart.

That morning, Rahmah wasn’t alone. Her father, Mr. Tri, decided to join her to enjoy the sunrise. They walked together to the pond, appreciating the quietness of the morning, which was only occasionally accompanied by the chirping of birds. Upon reaching the pond’s edge, they sat side by side, watching the sky grow brighter as the sun began to appear on the eastern horizon. Mr. Tri smiled as he saw Rahmah’s face light up with joy as she took in the beautiful scene.

“Rahmah, you know what? Little things like this—seeing the sunrise—are blessings from God,” Mr. Tri said, gazing at the changing sky. He continued, “Sometimes we forget to be grateful because we’re always waiting for something big to happen. But small things like enjoying the sunrise are also incredible gifts.” Rahmah nodded slowly, absorbing her father’s words. For her, his words were simple yet profound, making her feel more grateful for her life.

As the sun rose higher, Rahmah felt its warm rays gently touch her face. She felt peaceful and full of gratitude. She realized how lucky she was to live in this village, with the beautiful pond and the natural beauty offered by the world every day. Her father’s lesson became something precious to her—she didn’t need to wait for grand happiness to feel grateful; simply enjoying the small blessings God had given was enough.

From that day forward, Rahmah always remembered her father’s words. Each time she watched the sunrise, she was reminded of the importance of being grateful for the small blessings often overlooked. The warmth of the morning sun now served as a reminder that life was full of blessings to be cherished, even in the smallest things, like the beautiful scenes God, Allah SWT, presented.

Rectorate building of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura            The location in the middle of rice fields could be one of the reasons why this university gets little attention. It is unfortunate that not many people know about the existence of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. From the name already shows that this university is located on the island of Madura, a region famous for its cow race culture. Everyone should know that Universitas Trunojoyo Madura is a place that is worth it to pursue higher education. Among other reasons, the tuition fees here are very affordable. Although the tuition fees here are relatively cheap compared to other universities, the facilities here are unquestionable. As a student of the English study program, I feel very supported by the various facilities provided such as, a Listening lab complete with sophisticated equipment, Drama lab, Phonetic lab, Reading room, Lecture room complete with very adequate facilities. So far, this...

Lost In a Dream by Elli R. In slumber's realm, I find myself confined,   A dreamer with ambitious heart, I pine   For greatness that my soul doth yearn to find,   A journey's start, where dreams and passions intertwine. Each step I take, with patience as my guide,   Though progress seems a slow and weary mile,   I hold my head up high, and filled with pride,   My dreams I chase with courage and a smile. A thirst for heights unknown, I still pursue,   And dare to let my wildest visions fly,   For in this dream, I know my goals are true,   And in this dream, I find the will to try. The road may seem unending, long, and bleak,   But fueled by hope, my spirit doth not tire,   Within this dream, I find the strength to seek   The brightest future, burning with desire.
